Description
Drammen Sacred Music Festival brings together singers and musicians from around the world. This year we invite a hymn evening in Strømsgodset church where psalms, hymns and songs with several other origins than the Norwegian hymn traditions. The church uses hymns as an essential part of worship services and get-togethers. Many other uses song and music in different ways.
The following artists will contribute: Rohini Sahajpal, Kilema, Noor Ahmad & group (islam), Haldis Kirkeng (norwegian/gospel), liturgisk song-group (eritrean ortodoks), joik, Line Lindholm (classical song – christian), Angelica Kumar and others. Tom Georg Rødland is musical director of the musicians who will be playing their own things and accompany singers and musicians. “Songs from Drammen without borders” was held in Fjell church in May with very good response. At the Palace in October 2015 we had a similar arrangement where the Norwegian King and Queen received a cultural program composed of songs and music from many traditions.
