Stress can cause anxiety, depression, conflict and affect the development of a variety of diseases. Meditation and other forms of regular rest and relaxation, however, have a clear positive effect both physically and mentally.
Several scientific studies have shown that meditation provides great help to reduce nervousness and tension. Meditation can reduce psychosomatic ailments such as sore muscles, headaches, insomnia, etc.

Margaretha Hagala M.D. will in this lecture present some techniques of meditation and talk about the impact meditation may have on your health. She completed medical training in Poland (Białystok) in 1985, and has experience in surgery and orthopedics at among others Haukeland hospital. She has been practicing stress reduction
techniques such as meditation and yoga since she was a teenager, partly to achieve better results as an active athlete; she has won several medals in Polish championships in judo. As a doctor, she is concerned about the connection between health, stress and diet. Besides being a doctor, she is also a hypnotherapist, trained instructor in MediYoga
medical yoga and a certified instructor in Mindfulness from the Scandinavian Centre of Awareness Training. She has 37 years with experience of yoga and meditation.
